In summary, the police arrested Patrick Lawrence, a 22-year-old white male, resident of Dacula, GA, in a pumpkin patch at 11:38 p.m. on Friday.

Lawrence will be charged with lewd and lascivious behavior, public indecency, and public intoxication at the Gwinnett County courthouse on Monday.

The suspect explained that as he was passing a pumpkin patch he decided to stop. “You know, a pumpkin is soft and squishy inside, and there was no one around here for miles. At least I thought there wasn’t,” he stated in a phone interview.

Lawrence went on to say that he pulled over to the side of the road, Picked out a pumpkin that he felt was appropriate to his purposes, cut a hole in it, and proceeded to satisfy his need. “I guess I was just really into it, you know?” he commented with evident embarrassment.

In the process, Lawrence apparently failed to notice a Gwinnett County police car approaching and was unaware of his audience until Officer Brenda Taylor approached him. “It was an unusual situation, that’s for sure,” said Officer Taylor. “I walked up to (Lawrence) and he’s… just working away at this pumpkin.”

Taylor went on to describe what happened when she approached Lawrence. “I just went up and said, ‘Excuse me sir, but do you realize that you are screwing a pumpkin?’ He froze and was clearly very surprised that I was there, and then looked me straight in the face and said, ‘A pumpkin? Darn…is it midnight already?”

What is love between a man and a woman? What is a soul mate? My idea of it is a single soul dwelling in two bodies. I believe that saying, without a doubt, but I am just not certain it is true for me anymore. I sit on top of this mountain looking over the trees and hills. I hear the birds singing and the crickets starting to chirp. The sky is amazing with shades of purple, pink and blue. There is just a bit of a breeze that feels wonderful on my face. This is where I like to go when I need to think. As I watch the sun set, the dark is around me and then I wonder how I can still feel so empty when I have so much.

My name is Kaitlyn. I have loved another with all of my heart and soul but have realized that sometimes love is probably just not enough. I, as mostly all women, dream of that true love, that perfect soul mate, love at first sight or whatever you choose to call it. I am married to a man who thinks he has found his soul mate and partner for the rest of his life. I know it sounds wrong, I am married to him. Shouldn’t that be who he married? We have a 3 year old precious little boy, Logan. I think all things happen for a reason and I am sure mine was for my child. Maybe it was to save my life. Part 1
It was a nice warm spring night in March 2003. We were rushing to get ready all sharing one bathroom. Drying our hair, putting on make up, making sure to look perfect. It was my 17th birthday weekend which meant lots of partying and having fun with our friends. I was with my two best friends whom I spent majority of my time with. Emily and I had been friends since we were eight years old. She was always there no matter where or what we did. She has always been a little shorter than me with shorter dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was more outgoing than me and extremely creative. I on the other hand was shy and normally kept to myself until I got to know people. I had long blonde hair my whole life and hazel eyes. Gabby came along earlier in the year and somehow stayed. I thought she was beautiful with her long thick brown hair. She was exactly a perfect mix of Emily and me.

After we all were dressed to perfection we made our way to my gold Honda Accord. I always drove since they did not have a car. We turned up the radio as loud as we could and headed out. We pulled into the circle driveway of a beautiful white house. It was one of those huge houses with the round columns on the front, nice in ground pool in the back with a pool house as well. This was normal as many of my friend’s parents from school were fairly wealthy. As we were walking from our car around to the pool house we could already hear the blare of the music and laughing of our friends. The first person I noticed was David in the distance. David was that one boy in high school that I wanted more than life itself. I fell head over heals for him the moment I saw him our freshman year. “Hey Ethan! How’s it going?” I said walking towards him. Ethan was David’s best friend and my best guy friend. We would talk for hours about the girl he wanted to be with and he would tell me things about David. I felt like I could tell him anything hoping that he wouldn’t repeat some of the crazy things I would say about David. “I’m great! You want a beer?” he said as he was reaching into the cooler knowing I would say yes. “Of course I do! So has David said anything about me?” I replied. “Nope not yet, I’m sorry!” We made our way inside the pool house with everyone else. After a few hours of playing pool and drinking quite a few beers I noticed Ethan sitting alone. “Ethan what’s wrong?” “Nothing, I am just tired of getting ignored. I don’t think she even cares.” We both had a little much to drink that night which made things easier to upset him. “Ethan she doesn’t care about you and the way you feel. She knows you like her but I promise as soon as you stop giving her attention she will want you.” Marie was the girl he liked and she had a way of stringing guys along. She was one of my good friends but I didn’t like the way she was treating my friend.

Somehow before I knew it we were in a deep conversation while I was sitting in his lap. Everyone around us was invisible. We talked about our families and what we wanted for our futures. Not the normal conversations we once had. All of a sudden the friend that I once saw was someone completely different. I knew at that moment when I looked into his eyes that I would never think of David again. “Kaitlyn come on we need to go home!” screamed Emily. We both stood in silence looking at each other like we just met. As we walked to the car I wondered how this would turn out. How did this happen? How do I in just an instance feel a flutter in my stomach when I look at him? I looked up at him and realized how wonderful the smell of his cologne was. I never really noticed how tall he was next to me. I’ve never been this close to him. I had to tilt my whole head back to see his face. As he put his arms around my waste I felt a chill up my back. His body against mine never felt so right. Then his soft lips touched mine. Was it just my imagination taking a hold of me or did this just feel “right”? It hurt to know that I would have to leave him. I wanted more than anything to just stay with him that night. He opened the door of my car. We smiled and without saying a word or even anyone noticing what just happened, we knew that this was the start of something we would never forget. It was hard to sleep that night with all of the things that happened running through my mind. It felt as if it would be an eternity before I would see him next.
